People are now afraid to eat good fats and do not know that fat is actually an essential nutrient, without it our body would not be able to function properly. Unsaturated fats provide a multitude of health benefits and are recommended as part of a healthy diet.

Fats and oils are important for a healthy diet because they provide energy and carry essential nutrients, such as vitamins A, D, E & K. Saturated fats and trans fats are unhealthy fats and may increase the risk of heart disease and clog arteries. 20%-30% percent of all calories consumed should be in the form of fat that comes from fish, nuts and vegetable oil sources.
